The newest article from my column in Mishpacha Magazine is available here.  It tells the story of a young man with substance abuse who is surprised to find out that there are others in his community receiving treatment for alcoholism.

I remember listening to my hero, Rabbi Avraham J. Twerski, talk about the need for more AA groups in the religious community.  Eventually we shouldn’t have any use for them, but in the meantime there are necessary was his general message.

I hope this article helps to decrease the stigma surrounding seeking help for substance abuse problems in the Jewish community…
